FAQs

Early signs of a potential thyroid problem can include:

  • weight gain
  • weight loss
  • sweating
  • tremors (shaking)
  • difficulty concentrating
  • hair loss

This test includes all the same markers measured in our Thyroid Blood Test, but with the addition of triiodothyronine (free T3), antithyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase antibodies. These antibodies can help give an indication of your thyroid health. There are some thyroid diseases such as autoimmune disease of the thyroid.

An autoimmune thyroid condition is when your body’s immune system attacks or overstimulates your thyroid. It can cause your thyroid to become overactive or underactive.

Talk to your doctor before taking this test. Being pregnant can have a noticeable impact on your results, so make sure to check in with your GP first.
